Resident Care Coordinator responsibilities:
Ensuring that adequate staff is available to meet the needs of the residents per facility policy and State Regulations. This includes assisting with the replacement of absent personnel and working to cover scheduling gaps;
Work with DON or designee to destroy discontinued medications
Review POC charting daily and call in staff to complete charting if not finished.
Create and maintain a schedule for weekly med pass observation for each tech.
Complete and turn in the med pass observation form weekly to the DON after each observation.
Work with all med techs in need of guidance or training and report findings and training plan to DON.
Review all medication re order sheets and ensure delivery from Omnicare. If medication not processed in Omniview call Omnicare for clarification.
Report any medications needing refills or medication issues to DON immediately.
Manage the dispersing of resident supplies, including incontinence supplies, med cart supplies, and gloves.
Ensure an adequate inventory of supplies and report supply needs as necessary to Director of Nursing.
Provide shift coverage for call offs
Train Resident Aids as needed and work final orientation shift for all new hires in the clinical department.
